JEREMY DYER

STYLE: CONTEMPORARY, IMPRESSIONISTIC

He is a Cape Town artist, who has been doing Art since childhood, and has slowly developed his own distinct style. It is disciplined yet free, combining some messiness with finely detailed, hand-cut-out and torn items from a variety of sources like magazines, adverts, packets, etc. He references a variety of historical art styles into a unique, harmonious whole, capturing an entire world in each picture, which can comprise many mini-artworks. This art is interactive, in the sense that at different distances, different things are noticeable.
The layers of detail have their own special see-through, patterned look, and he is never sure how it is going to end up. He calls it Integrative Collage, because he integrates images and ideas, combining concepts such as mortality, sexuality, spirituality, fashion and décor with representative images.
